TSUNAMI AFTERMATH

One month after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the people of Phuket, Thailand were still looking for the missing, living in makeshift shelters, or burying their dead. In Thailand alone, it was estimated that the tsunami killed 130,000 people. Overall, it has been estimated that the tsunami killed more than 300,000.
